Jason figured out early on that he didn’t have the face for TV—so he settled for radio instead. At 10 years old, he blagged his way onto a kids’ show at 2CR, his local station in Bournemouth, and he’s been hooked on broadcasting ever since.

Of course, the road to radio wasn’t straight. He tried printing, driving big yellow buses, and even selling shoes (don’t ask about the returns policy), before finally landing his dream job behind the mic.

Before joining BFBS, Jason worked on The Breeze in Southampton and for the station serving Blandford & Shaftesbury, then called Midwest Radio. He even wore two hats—Breakfast Presenter and Programme Controller—at Dorset’s commercial radio station Wessex FM, when it bagged not one, but two shiny Arqiva awards in the same year.

Now back in Blandford with BFBS, Jason says it feels like “coming home”—though without anyone asking him to take the bins out. At home, he’s married to Dawn, proud dad to Lydia and Imogen, and full-time servant to Dame Mary Berry, the family’s pre-loved cat.",
